Why I HATE Valentines Day

Valentines day...

I hate it.

Why??

If you love someone, you shouldn't only show them one day a year. If you actually care about them, show them all of the other 364 days!

Guys, heres a tip: You want to "Get Lucky" on Valentines day, so you're sweet and you buy her chocolate and gifts and such... Ever thought about doing that randomly through out the year? And NO I dont mean on her birthday, your anniversary, or a holiday. Send her flowers just because, it'll put you in her good graces for a long time.

Girls: You want him to be sweet to you? Thats easy, BE SWEET TO HIM. DOn't flirt with every guy you see, ESPECIALLY when he is standing right there. Thats just disrespectful, and its not going to make him very happy with you. Trust me, I've learned that the hard way.

You cannot be rude, negative, derogatory to the person you care about, and expect them to not be the same to you.

You cant IGNORE the person, and not expect them to be upset and maybe even rude to you.

Love's tough, but it's so worth it when you can make it. Relationships are NOT just about being in love. There has to be a mutual feeling of respect and a genuine care about how the other one feels.

And if you dont remember anything else in this post, remember THIS:
If you find someone that makes you happier than anything else, but still knows exactly how to push your buttons and test you... Never let go. For that person will push you to your limits, and make you a much better person than you would be without them.



"Speak now or forever hold your peace" are the words said by preachers at the end of wedding ceremonies all over the world, right before the vows. It's the last chance for protest, a moment that makes everyones heart race, and a moment I've always been strangely fascinated by. So many fantasize about bursting into a church, saying what they've kept inside for years like in the movies. In real life it rarely happens.

Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life saying the right thing at the right moment is crucial. So crucial, in fact, that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I've begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything.

I think most of us fear reaching the end of our life, and looking back regretting the moments when we didn't speak up. When we didn't say "I love you." When we didn't say "I'm sorry." When we didn't stand up for ourselves, or someone who needed help.

These songs are made up of words I didn’t say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person. To the beautiful boy whose heart I broke in December. To my first love who I never thought would be my first heartbreak. To my band. To a mean man I used to be afraid of. To someone who made my world very dark for a while. To a girl who stole something of mine. To someone I forgive for what he said in front of the whole world.

Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you’ll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone.

What you say might be too much for some people. Maybe it will come out all wrong and you’ll stutter and you’ll walk away embarrassed, wincing as you play it all back in your head. But I think the words you stop yourself from saying are the ones that will haunt you the longest.

So say it to them. Or say it to yourself in the mirror. Say it in a letter you’ll never send or in a book millions might read someday. I think you deserve to look back on your life without a chorus of resounding voices saying ‘I could’ve, but it’s too late now. ’

There is a time for silence. There is a time for waiting your turn. turn. But if you know how you feel, and so clearly know what you need to say, you’ll know it.

I don’t think you should wait. I think you should Speak Now.

Why can't We All Be This Selfless?


The second dog saw a fellow dog, that he may have never seen before, yet he STILL risked his own life to try and help the hurt dog.
Why aren't we humans more like this? Why can't we go out of our way to help a stranger?

Spontaneous Human Combustion.

So I came across this on my addiction, Stumble Upon. This essay talks about humans spontaneously combusting... And honestly my first thought was WTF? Like can you imagine just standing there and all of a sudden, BAM, the person across the room just explodes into flames??

Even if it's so not true, I starting thinking about it more deeply, I thought WOW. You really don't know when/how your life could end. It's something that could happen at any time, in any way.

So, this got me thinking. If something were to happen to me, when would I have regretted? Did I accomplish everything I wanted to? Was there a person I never talked to that I wished I had? Did I not tell someone that I loved them? Was I terrible to someone, for a mundane reason, and now I can never apologize to them?
I'm sure there's so much I've left undone... So many goals that I haven't accomplished.

But the moral of this story, I suppose, is to never let one word go for granted. To never let the moment pass when you didnt do/say what you REALLY felt. Don't be afraid to let people know what you think, because what you think matters. Always TRY to do something, even if it doesn't work out, at least you can say that you tried. (:
